Surreal at times, enigmatic at others, traveling to Cuba was an opportunity that I was fortunate to experience. This place absolutely changed my life, and I couldn’t help but gain an entirely new perspective.
It was political, it was emotional, and it was magical. I felt acquainted as if she were an old friend, but just as well, nothing could have prepared me for the depths that this place would take me.
An unseen trumpeter echoes from an old dilapidated building bordering a desolate street. Children play on the Malecon waiting for the spray of a crashing wave to cool them down on this warm November day.
Dancing, drumming, smiling, and laughing, Havana is rich in her soul. One takes this vibe with them forever, and for me, it was the seed that rapidly evoked more of my own passion for traveling and educating myself on the many cultures and landscapes that exist in our world.
