WANDERLUST CONTINUUM
Location: Barcelona, Fuengirola, Granada, Malaga, Ronda, Tariffa, Tangier, Fez, and Paris.
Duration: 4 weeks
Barcelona’s dancing walls, undulating in kinetic empathy, organically rhythmic, absolutely biomorphic. Antonio Gaudi’s Modernistic approach to architecture is simply dreamlike.
Moving along to the south of Spain, compositions are comprised of an arid texture, rustic facades, ridged, and worn. Grand bullrings in small villages tucked away into the mountains. Moorish influence lined the walls of the Alhambra in Granada, as the street signs translate from Arabic to Spanish.
We caught the boat from Tariffa to Tangier, and from there a five hour train ride to Fez.
The train was slow, and the land was sparse, so I settled in for a nap only to awake in another world. Arriving in Fez, our guide would lead us through the walled city of the Medina. Alleys and crevices intertwined with shops and homes, mosques, and markets. As the sun would rise, so would the roosters, and shortly there after, the call to prayer would flow through the Medina like a deep river.
My last week was spent in Paris, and it rained almost every day in that cold windy Paris way. It was romantic and charming, as Paris always is. Between the shopping, eating, and museums, I took a few photos. And then it was time to say au revoir. One last chocolate croissant, one last walk down St.Germain, one last gentle breeze filled with the sounds and sights; oh Paris, merci beaucoup!
